During the summer of 1998 God gave Pastor Byron Banta of Corona Baptist Church in Chandler, Arizona a vision for planting a new church. The leaders and members of Corona Baptist Church in cooperation with the Valley Rim Association, the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention, and the North American Mission Board followed God’s leading and formulated plans to begin a new church, called Wellspring.
Church staff, leaders, and members put godly visions into action for a permanent church building for Wellspring in 2002. Diligent efforts were made by the leaders to overcome construction delays and increasing costs. Members pledged sacrificially to allow financing for the new building. Even contractors donated such things as the sanctuary doors, to enhance the attractiveness of the church building. On March 26, 2006 Wellspring worshipped God in their new building for the first time. On January 14, 2007, the members of Wellspring Church officially constituted and changed from their ‘mission’ status by their approving their own church constitution and by-laws. Over several years there were many people that gave to make this church and the church building a reality, but most of all, God gave. He provided the vision. He guided the efforts. He moved the hearts. He accepted the prayers. He built His church by using godly people in numerous ways. On March 25, 2007 we joyously dedicate this building to the honor and glory of God. |
